Junior Youth

We met on October 13, shared a devotion and highs & lows, had our business meeting, and played team building games. Our Chicago trip planned for Nov 10th is a go. At this time there are 12 kids signed up. We’ll plan to leave church at 10:45 and return around 8pm.
Our next meeting is planned for December 8th. We will be working on a service project and begin planning for our Hugs N Cookies project.

ALL 7th-12th graders are welcome to be a part of SR Youth

We plan to attend National Youth Event this summer (planned for July 22-25) at Purdue University in Indiana. We will request a grant from the Endowment Ministry next spring. We have also decided to participate in a work trip in June (2020) to Atlanta, Georgia.

On Nov 2 we will meet at the Meyer’s for dinner and a movie from 5-10pm.

We have tentative plans to do a meal share at Bridgeway House on Nov 17. There is space for 5 people to serve.
Our next meeting is planned for Dec 8. Everyone is asked to bring their calendars to determine dates for our ATL trip as well as fundraising ideas so we can get started for our 2020 summer plans.

A few updates about our teaching ministry….
The children did a WONDERFUL job leading Children’s Sabbath on Oct 13th.  Thank you to all the families that participated.  On December 1st, we will observe White Gift Sunday and the kids will sing in worship.  More details will be available closer to that date.  Mark your calendars for the Christmas Program planned for Dec 15th.  Contact Marsha for a speaking part by Nov 10th.

The faith formation ministry at Salem wouldn’t be possible without the many volunteers who share their gifts with our children & youth. As we begin another school year, please keep all of our teachers and volunteers in your prayers. And if you have the chance, thank them personally for their ministry to our kids.

Mary Mullen, Susan Clarke & Morgan Clarke, Jennifer Velier & Hannah Velier, Terry Debbink, Lorena McKerrow, Kay Scheible, Ron Schoenfeld, Anne Hernandez, Rev Hoppert, and Marsha Meyer
