As we continue reeling toward a very non-traditional Thanksgiving season, I wanted to share with you just a few of the blessings of being a part of the church. This church, today.
Our children. Not your children or my children. OUR CHILDREN. The children of this faith community have been an incredible blessing. They do AMAZING things like lead worship (including a message that reminded us all that we’re in this together and that we are people of hope and that we lean on one another).
Our youth. Our kickoff to this program year was unconventional, but filled with all of the best things. Kids gathered (outdoors) for laughter, conversation, prayer, and dreaming of what is to come. We enjoyed sundaes, games, and s’mores by a campfire. Simple things in life that we seem to have more time for now.
I give thanks for the people of all ages in this faith community who continue to faithfully gather for worship whether online or (for a while) in-person. People who support the work of the church through their time, talents, and treasure. People who gather for study and rich conversation that grounds us in our faith and invites us to consider something new. The people in this faith community and the work that we do together as the body of Christ are our richest blessings.
Peace & love,Marsha
